Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) - Budget Truck

About the role

Budget Truck is hiring immediately for an automotive technician to work on moving vans and box trucks, with minimal technical oversight. The position is full-time, on-site in Kenner, Louisiana, and requires regular presence; it cannot be done remotely. Pay is $25 per hour, though starting pay may vary with geography, market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform essential repairs on a wide range of vehicle brands and models, including moving vans and box trucks
• Carry out maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication and tire repairs
• Handle potential warranty repairs depending on proficiency level
• Support skilled mechanics with more complex repair procedures
• May be required to drive a Budget Truck on public access roads

Required profile

• Valid driver's license (Class A, B or C)
• At least 2 years of auto repair experience
• At least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• DOT medical clearance
• Previous OEM experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a noisy mechanical shop

Required skills

• At least 1 ASE certification, with ability to earn 2 more within the first year
• ASE knowledge areas: Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Complete set of auto repair tools
• Basic computer skills including typing and data entry
