Automotive Aftermarket Laboratory Manager – Filler, Adhesive, Sealants & Coatings

About the role

Join 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division as the Laboratory Technical Manager for Filler, Adhesive, Sealants and Coatings. You will lead a globally diverse team of product developers and engineers, driving innovation and delivering high‑impact cross‑functional programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a talented, multicultural team in the Automotive Aftermarket FACS laboratory.
• Deliver complex programs that create new products, improve existing ones, and achieve cost reductions.
• Develop and execute an R&D strategy, build the NPI pipeline, and define a technology roadmap aligned with business growth.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to foster professional development.
• Integrate customer insights into product development to exceed market expectations.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales and external partners for seamless product launches.
• Champion IP protection strategies for 3M technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (required).
• Minimum seven years of experience in new product commercialization in private, public, government or military settings.
• Master’s degree in a science or engineering discipline (preferred).
• Proven collaborative interpersonal style and experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience with new product development, commercialization, and specification integration.
