Automation Engineering Supervisor

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Automation Engineering Supervisor to lead a team that designs, develops, implements, operates, and maintains control systems for manufacturing. This position is based onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, and plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and high‑quality production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee team members in designing, developing, implementing, operating, and maintaining automation control systems in manufacturing.
• Support and manage a team of automation technicians that provide 24/7 facility support.
• Ensure efficient task completion, adherence to processes, and compliance with GxP regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Make day‑to‑day decisions affecting team members and drive performance management and talent development.
• Foster a culture of excellence through employee engagement, recognition, and positive relations.
• Maintain accurate documentation, rigorous quality control, and complete all required training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (or high school + 10 years, Associate + 16 years, M.S. + 0 years).
• Fluent reading, writing, and communication in English.
• At least 2 years of relevant automation engineering experience.
• Minimum 1 year of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Willingness to work onsite in Fort Worth with minimal travel (0‑10%).
