Automation Engineer

About the role

Niyam is looking for a motivated Automation Engineer to support a federal client in Ashburn, VA. The position offers a blend of onsite work (up to four days per week) and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute to mission‑critical IT solutions while growing your testing expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute testing protocols to validate system and application requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing scripts and frameworks for application products.
• Conduct regression, smoke, and integration testing for IT applications.
• Evaluate test cases, document results, and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
• Support user requirements for complex software and hardware applications.
• Participate in risk‑management assessments and all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, isolate, and resolve software defects.
• Ensure adherence to Agile and QA methodologies throughout the development cycle.
