About the role
Join 3M’s Automated Inspection and Measurement group to design, integrate, and commission smart converting systems. You will work on fully automated slitters that use upstream inspection data for recipe management, cut planning, and dynamic control, collaborating with innovative engineers worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and commission automated converting systems, focusing on fully automated slitters.
- Develop automated inspection systems leveraging optics, image processing, and AI.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Provide on‑site support and on‑call assistance for converting and inspection systems across manufacturing locations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (completed before start date).
- At least two years of experience in process engineering, vision technology, or converting technology.
- Five years of professional experience implementing automated inspection, machine vision, or automated converting/slitting systems.
- Experience with 3M custom or commercial web inspection systems is a plus.
