Audiology Assistant (Entry Level)

About the role

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Audiology Assistant 1. This entry‑level position will be licensed shortly after starting and supports audiologists in delivering high‑quality hearing care to both adults and children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist audiologists with testing, evaluation, and fitting of hearing devices.
• Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments following sterile technique.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide basic procedural instructions.
• Organize and stock audiology supplies, discard expired items, and ensure clinic cleanliness.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, handling paperwork, and managing patient flow using IDX RIS/PACS.
• Greet patients, verify information, direct them to exam rooms, and document equipment issues.
• Conduct daily biologic checks of audiology equipment and report problems.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate willing to obtain the required audiology license shortly after hire.
• Ability to work collaboratively with audiologists and other clinic staff.
• Strong attention to detail for record‑keeping and equipment maintenance.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IDX RIS/PACS systems.
• Knowledge of audiology equipment operation and basic maintenance.
