Associate – Transaction Driven Financial Crime (CIB)

About the role

This position supports Santander Corporate and Investment Bank (SCIB) in the United States by managing end‑to‑end screening, transaction monitoring and trade finance processes that fall under Transaction Driven Financial Crime (TDFC). The associate ensures compliance with AML, anti‑bribery, anti‑financial crime and related regulatory standards while assisting business lines and clients throughout onboarding and ongoing lifecycle activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct full‑cycle alert reviews, investigations and transaction monitoring for TDFC.
• Perform quality assurance on false positives and communicate findings.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of AML typologies, regulations and industry best practices.
• Serve as the single point of contact for business units to ensure compliance with TDFC policies.
• Liaise with external clients and internal stakeholder groups to gather required information and validate documentation.
• Escalate high‑risk alerts to the second line of defense as needed.
• Analyze new legislation and regulatory announcements to implement appropriate procedures.
