Associate, Quality I

About the role

The Quality Associate works within the Ferdinand Quality System, applying analysis and statistical techniques to drive continual improvement of manufacturing processes. This dayshift position supports problem solving, variable control, and provides candid, accurate feedback critical to product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Layered Process Audits and resolve open items.
• Collaborate with Group Leaders, Team Leaders and Engineering to identify and solve product quality issues.
• Work with internal and external customers to address quality problems.
• Conduct Customer Complaint Analysis.
• Lead and track daily/weekly operational metrics such as X‑Rite readings, PPM, QA boards, NorthStar, OOCA, OBKA, and color checks.
• Facilitate bi‑weekly Quality Round Table meetings.
• Visit customer job sites when required.
• Review and update specifications and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) for accuracy.
• Support operations staff in interpreting specifications and solving problems.
• Ensure compliance with the Ferdinand Quality System and promote continuous improvement.
• Provide training and coaching on quality issues to production associates and management.
• Lead or participate in Kaizen improvement events.
• Create, modify, and finalize SOS documents.
• Report project status using the A3 project management format.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to apply and interpret statistical data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving mindset with the ability to give candid feedback.
• Capability to deliver formal project presentations to leadership.
