Associate Programme Management Officer

About the role

The United Nations Office of Counter‑Terrorism is seeking an Associate Programme Management Officer to support the Special Projects Section in New York. The role will assist in coordinating and implementing the Fusion Cells programme and related capacity‑building projects for Mozambique’s counter‑terrorism entities.

Key responsibilities

• Work with key clients to facilitate development, implementation and evaluation of the Fusion Cells programme.
• Monitor and analyse programme progress, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Review project documents and reports, liaise with stakeholders and track follow‑up actions.
• Assist in planning and delivering global, regional and national counter‑terrorism training and capacity‑building workshops.
• Support senior officials with internal, UN‑wide and external coordination, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of SPIB activities in Mozambique.
• Contribute to the design and execution of a visibility and communication plan for the Mozambique capacity‑building programme.
• Conduct basic research, collect, analyse and present statistical data related to programme operations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clients and facilitate programme development.
• Strong monitoring, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience reviewing documents, identifying issues and coordinating corrective actions.
• Capability to assist senior officials with coordination, reporting and communication planning.
• Familiarity with counter‑terrorism initiatives and inter‑agency coordination mechanisms.
