Associate Manufacturing

About the role

Amgen is hiring an Associate Manufacturing professional for its Thousand Oaks Drug Substance plant, which supports development, clinical and commercial activities. The role works under general supervision in the Manufacturing area, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manufacturing Procedures (MPs).

Key responsibilities

• Set up, clean and sanitize manufacturing equipment
• Prepare buffers and media per defined procedures and SOPs
• Follow GMP documents with strict adherence to safety and compliance
• Perform and monitor critical processes, including basic troubleshooting
• Perform in-process sampling and operate analytical equipment
• Clean small-scale and large-scale equipment and maintain an organized, clean workspace
• Work in a clean room wearing steel-toe shoes, full clean room gowning, hairnet and gloves
• Initiate quality deviation records and draft and revise SOPs and MPs
• Recommend and implement improvements, and assist in reviewing documentation such as batch records
• Work around high-pressure systems and occasionally heavy equipment, and be available for various shifts including weekends and holidays

Required profile

• High school/GED plus 2 years of manufacturing or operations experience, or an associate's degree plus 6 months of such experience, or a bachelor's degree
• Preferred: bachelor's degree in biology and/or life sciences
• Team player able to take direction, follow documents and policies, and take initiative
• Able to multi-task and independently motivated

• Scientific, engineering and laboratory analysis and troubleshooting
• Advanced problem-solving and ability to follow detailed protocols

• Annual salary range of $70,985 to $96,038 in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico)
