About the role
Google is seeking an Associate Litigation Counsel to join its Legal team. You will work on high‑impact litigation matters across privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, content moderation and intellectual property, providing proactive legal guidance for innovative products.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, from pre‑litigation counseling to trial.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to assess and mitigate litigation risk.
- Partner with external counsel to develop strategies and drive favorable outcomes.
- Provide regular updates on docket status and legal risk to cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Work with other in‑house counsel to ensure consistent legal approaches across the company.
Required profile
- J.D., LL.B., or equivalent degree with at least 3 years of attorney‑level experience in government, in‑house, or law‑firm settings.
- Admission to the bar in the state of employment and good standing.
- Demonstrated litigation experience, including witness examination, verbal argument, and trial work.
- Experience with privacy, consumer class actions, content‑moderation or intermediary liability matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication and leadership abilities.
