Associate Lawyer – Family Litigation (Mid‑level)

About the role

Caron & Partners LLP, a well‑established Calgary law firm, is expanding its Family Practice Group. The firm seeks a motivated mid‑level lawyer to join as an Associate Lawyer focusing on family litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations and provide concise legal advice on divorce, parenting, support, and property matters.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal submissions.
• Perform complex legal research and apply statutes such as the Divorce Act, Family Law Act, and related guidelines.
• Negotiate settlements through mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, ensuring timely and accurate file handling.

Required profile

• LLB or JD and active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
• 3–4 years of focused experience in family law, with strong knowledge of relevant statutes and court rules.
• Excellent analytical, advocacy, and written communication abilities.
• Proven litigation experience and comfort with high‑pressure, high‑conflict situations.
• Self‑motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work collaboratively within a team.
