Associate / Engagement Manager - Transportation & Advanced Industrials

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Transportation & Advanced Industrials Practice advises clients in aerospace & defense, automotive, aviation, industrials goods, logistics and rail on the innovations and regulatory and trade changes shaping the industry. Two positions are offered: Associate, for highly experienced professionals, and Engagement Manager, a leadership role reporting to Partners. Both are hybrid, with 60% together and 50% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Associate: manage project modules, including hypothesis development, data collection, modelling and analysis, primary and secondary research, and surfacing insights; support Partners in project delivery; own and develop executive client relationships; coach consultants.
• Engagement Manager: lead client projects and the commercial process, share responsibility for engagement success, and guide clients as trusted advisors; lead complex programs to on-time delivery; identify new business opportunities; build thought leadership; oversee the consulting team and coach juniors; lead firm-building activities.

Required profile

• Ideal: 4-6 years in strategy consulting and/or transportation and/or industrials, with specialization in aviation, aerospace & defense, surface transportation or industrials.
• Preferred: 4-7 years at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, proven EBITDA/profitability improvement, exposure to a full transformation lifecycle, client management experience and a track record of leading teams under tight deadlines.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program; willingness to travel 50% of the time.

What we offer

• Base salary of $190K-$195K for Associate and $225K-$240K for Engagement Manager, depending on experience, skills, location and education
