Associate / Engagement Manager, Insurance & Asset Management

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Insurance Practice, within Financial Services, is looking for Associates and Engagement Managers in New York to support its expansion. The practice advises life insurers, property and casualty insurers and asset managers on strategy, product design, operations, underwriting and pricing. The role suits motivated professionals with relevant prior experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the execution of individual project workstreams or projects, including planning, hypothesis development, data collection, modelling and analysis, and research
• Synthesize findings into written presentations, discuss them with clients and stakeholders, and lead client readouts
• Support the Partner group in project delivery with accurate, high-quality execution
• Manage and develop junior consultants, including task allocation, review and iteration, feedback and mentoring

Required profile

• 4-7 years of relevant experience, ideally at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar project-based, team-oriented organization
• Experience with insurance topics such as organizational design, strategic planning, product design, distribution, underwriting, claims, risk and capital management, pensions or reinsurance
• Track record of leading teams and meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
• Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills, and outstanding written and verbal communication
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program, willingness to travel, and unrestricted U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship offered)

What we offer

• Base salary range of $190,000 to $240,000, depending on experience, skills, location and education
