Associate Editor – Remote

About the role

The Associate Editor will support GUN DOG magazine by editing and polishing content for both print and digital platforms. Working remotely, you will ensure every piece meets the publication’s style standards and contributes to the brand’s audience growth.

Key responsibilities

• Review, edit, and proofread articles, features, and columns for grammar, style, and factual accuracy.
• Maintain and enforce the GUN DOG style guide across all editorial outputs.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to create and improve digital content, applying SEO best practices.
• Monitor web traffic and metrics to gauge content performance.
• Film, edit, and publish video content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and other social platforms, serving as on‑camera talent when needed.
• Attend trade shows, industry hunts, and brand events as a representative of GUN DOG.
• Produce photography and videography in the field and on assignment.
• Assist in developing content strategies aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Full‑time, salaried (exempt) position.
• Remote work arrangement.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet editorial deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced editing and proofreading abilities.
• Knowledge of SEO principles for editorial content.
• Video production and editing experience.
• Proficiency with social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook).
• Photography and basic videography skills.
• Understanding of web analytics and content performance metrics.
