Associate Director, Regulatory & Conflicts Compliance

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Medical Compliance is seeking a full‑time Associate Director to lead regulatory and conflicts compliance activities. This senior position serves as the primary liaison with regulators and oversees the inquiry and examination process.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact with regulatory agencies, managing submissions, filings, notifications and disclosures.
• Provide advice and guidance to business lines, operational units and support functions on compliance matters.
• Conduct internal reviews and investigations of incidents and third‑party complaints related to legal or regulatory breaches.
• Lead or participate in projects that enhance the compliance control environment.
• Support examination and inquiry processes and ensure timely regulatory filings.
• Participate in compliance and operational risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators, compliance colleagues and internal stakeholders.
• Assess and improve internal controls, and ensure staff training on university policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Juris Doctor preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; 7 years preferred.
• Proven ability to align departmental goals with enterprise‑wide strategy.
• Experience in financial and resource management, adaptability to change, and leading high‑performing teams.
