Associate Director of Student Support Services

About the role

The Associate Director of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS‑Classic) program will lead data‑driven initiatives, manage a caseload of at‑risk students, and oversee recruitment and staff supervision to promote student retention and graduation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the SSS program, ensuring compliance with federal grant objectives and institutional policies.
• Hire, train, and supervise full‑time staff and student employees, providing coaching and performance feedback.
• Oversee recruitment, eligibility verification, intake interviews, and selection of up to 288 SSS participants.
• Manage student caseloads, maintain detailed records, and develop intervention strategies to address barriers to success.
• Utilize data to generate bi‑weekly reports, analyze program effectiveness, and support the Annual Performance Report submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of professional experience (master’s degree preferred).
• Three or more years of experience in higher education, preferably within TRIO or similar student support programs.
• Demonstrated competence in instruction, tutoring, or counseling of at‑risk students.
• Familiarity with federal TRIO regulations and experience in staff development.
