Associate Director of Annual Fund & Alumni Relations

About the role

The Associate Director of Annual Fund & Alumni Relations leads the strategic vision and execution of Sinai Akiba Academy’s annual fund and alumni engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy & Donor Relations, this senior development professional blends “friendraising” with fundraising to build lifelong connections with families, alumni, and friends of the school.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the Sinai Akiba Fund.
• Create targeted, segmented solicitations for parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, friends, vendors, and staff.
• Lead the annual fund campaign to achieve the school’s fundraising goals.
• Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy to design campaign strategy, messaging, and timeline.
• Recruit, train, manage, and steward volunteers and committee members.
• Manage a portfolio of mid‑level prospects ($1,800–$10,000) through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Produce fund materials and communications, including appeals, signage, electronic and print collateral.
• Research families, assign ask amounts, and pair solicitors.
• Design and execute personalized stewardship plans for donors across all constituencies.

Required profile

• Innovative, entrepreneurial development professional with several years of fundraising experience.
• Proven success in leading annual fund campaigns and alumni relations programs.
• Strong leadership and volunteer management abilities.
• Experience managing mid‑level donor portfolios and creating stewardship plans.
• Commitment to the mission and values of a private Jewish day school.
