Associate Director - Information Systems, Clinical Data Hub

About the role

Amgen is looking for an Associate Director to lead its Clinical Data Hub (CDH) product team within the Clinical Design and Analysis organization. The role sets the product vision, strategy and roadmap for CDH as a scalable clinical data foundation that supports discovery, integration, governance and reuse of clinical development data, and helps accelerate study onboarding and product development.

Key responsibilities

• Build senior partnerships across Clinical Development, Data Management, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Safety, Regulatory, Precision Medicine and DTI to define and execute the CDH roadmap.
• Own and communicate the product vision, multi-year roadmap, investment priorities and outcomes.
• Champion scalable data products, common data standards, metadata, governance, security, discoverability and interoperability.
• Lead product portfolio planning, backlog and budget management, and make trade-off decisions on reliability, compliance, technical debt and new capabilities.
• Provide strategic and people leadership for a cross-functional product team, including talent development, succession planning and vendor management.
• Work with data, analytics, platform, infrastructure, security, validation, DevOps/RunOps and other product teams to deliver dependable operations.
• Set up product governance and performance management, and represent CDH in senior leadership forums.

Required profile

• One of: doctorate with 4 years of IS/CS/Biology experience, master's with 8 years, bachelor's with 10 years, associate's with 12 years, or high school diploma with 14 years of such experience.
• Minimum 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, products, programs or allocating resources.
• Preferred: domain knowledge of clinical development data and processes, and product management or product owner experience with enterprise data, analytics or platform products.

Required skills

• Preferred: product strategy, roadmaps, portfolio prioritization, Agile, Scrum and backlog management.
• Preferred: modern data architecture, cloud, data lakes/lakehouses, APIs, metadata, data quality and lineage, DevOps; AWS, Databricks, Apache technologies, Python, R, SQL, Docker and GitLab.
