Associate Director, Global Scientific Training

About the role

Ascendis Pharma, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on Endocrinology, Rare Disease and Oncology, is seeking an experienced trainer to join its Global Scientific Training team. The Associate Director shapes and enhances the scientific training programs that support Medical Affairs teams worldwide, develops training content, facilitates learning experiences and helps align scientific standards across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute regularly to content and process updates in several scientific training curriculums tailored to diverse medical audiences
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to develop engaging training materials and curricula with limited vendor support
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops and seminars using adult learning principles, considering cultural differences
• Evaluate and improve training effectiveness through formal and informal feedback
• Stay current with industry trends, disease states and treatment guidelines affecting training content
• Support onboarding of new employees and foster a learning environment that encourages participation and knowledge sharing
• Explore new formats and technologies, including a learning management system, to enhance audience engagement
• Participate in advancing a Global Medical Affairs fellowship program

Required profile

• 8+ years of biotech/pharma training experience
• Prior biotech/pharma field medical or clinical experience
• PharmD/PhD with training experience
• Clinical development experience desired
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and occasionally internationally

Required skills

• Experience with electronic learning management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for instructional content
• Ability to deliver f2f instructor-led, virtual and self-guided training
