About the role
The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding its faculty and seeks outstanding researchers for open‑rank positions (Assistant, Associate, or Professor). The role combines independent research, teaching, and mentorship within a vibrant academic community.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute innovative research programs in modern physiology and biophysics.
- Secure extramural funding and publish high‑impact results.
- Teach graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and medical trainees.
- Mentor and supervise research staff and trainees.
- Contribute to departmental service and the broader scientific community.
Required profile
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree.
- Extensive post‑doctoral experience (minimum three years) for junior candidates; established research record for senior candidates.
- Demonstrated commitment to scientific excellence and ability to build an independent research program.
Required skills
- Structure‑function analysis of ion channels and receptors.
- Cellular signaling assay development.
- Animal disease modeling.
- Development and application of molecular sensors.
- Optical imaging methods.
