Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

About the role

California State University, Fresno is hiring a full-time, probationary, exempt Assistant Women's Soccer Coach (Coaching Assistant, 12-month term) in Fresno. Working under the direction of the Head Soccer Coach, the Assistant Coach helps administer the Women's Soccer program, supports the health, well-being and academic success of student-athletes and helps develop the competitive nature of the program. Work is performed onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in administering the Women's Soccer program and maintain the sports budget
• Schedule and organize practices and competitions
• Ensure the program complies with NCAA, conference and university rules
• Develop and enforce written team rules and expectations
• Recruit quality student-athletes focused on graduation and help monitor their academic progress and eligibility
• Support the Department of Athletics' philosophy, policies and procedures and promote intercollegiate athletics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited US institution or equivalent international degree; coaching, physical education, exercise science, psychology, teaching or a related field preferred
• At least three years of experience coaching Women's Soccer at the NCAA Division I level
• Experience with elite-level sport recruitment, including a recruiting database, calendar and strategy
• Preferred: USSF A or UEFA A coaching license, team travel administration, camp and academy direction and coaching experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Required skills

• Clear knowledge of soccer, including modern coaching methods, tactics and goalkeeping unit responsibilities
• Excellent office and administrative skills, task orientation and adherence to timelines
• Team scouting, video and match analysis experience highly preferred

What we offer

• Salary range of $6,288 to $7,658 per month, up to $7,052 depending on qualifications and experience
