Assistant Store Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and help develop our team. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the store runs smoothly and meets performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day store functions, opening and closing procedures.
• Provide friendly, approachable service to customers and resolve inquiries.
• Receive, organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor.
• Maintain seasonal areas, storefront fixtures, and promotional displays.
• Support ordering, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss‑prevention activities.
• Keep the sales floor and stockroom well‑stocked and organized to company standards.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates alongside the Store Manager.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Execute corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, task compliance, and key surveys.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Retail, grocery, or drug‑store management experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lb and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑energy, team‑oriented environment.
