Assistant Security Officer (CAC/SMS)

About the role

Amentum is hiring an Assistant Security Officer (CAC/SMS) for its Springfield, VA location. The role administers and ensures compliance with security regulations and procedures, including security passing requirements in line with DoD and the customer's guidelines, and involves routine interaction with contractors and government agencies on security and clearance matters. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional Tuesday shifts from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CAC duties and rotate among Briefing, Clearance Passing and Front Desk areas as needed.
• Coordinate with the Company Facility Security Officer (FSO) to ensure personnel meet and maintain DoD clearance requirements.
• Manage and process programs and documents related to the transport of classified documents, equipment and media.
• Produce accurate, detailed reports and handle other security-related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Business Administration or Security, with 0-1 years of DoD security-related experience; an extra 2 years of IC security experience can replace the associate degree.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, with 2 years of security administration experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, which must be acquired and maintained.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and strong oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Scattered Castle, M3/SMS, C-Cure 9000, MDI database, PeopleSoft Access Management System (PSAM) and e-Travel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of DoD and NGA security policies and adherence to WSC rules, guidelines and timekeeping policies.
