Assistant Scientist – Postdoctoral Associate in Neuro‑Oncology

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks two full‑time Assistant Scientists (postdoctoral associates) to join Dr. Anna Lasorella’s and Dr. Antonio Iavarone’s labs. The research focuses on molecular genetics and therapeutic targeting of malignant brain tumors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute bench experiments in protein biochemistry, DNA/RNA sequencing, and single‑cell assays.
• Develop and maintain patient‑derived organoid cultures, xenograft models, and engineered mouse brain tumor models.
• Perform spatial transcriptomics and ATAC‑seq analyses.
• Document experimental procedures meticulously and manage data records.
• Collaborate with computational biologists to integrate multi‑omics data.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD) or doctoral degree (PhD) in a life‑science discipline.
• Proven research experience with peer‑reviewed publications.
• At least one year of experience in cancer biology, pharmacology, bioinformatics, or cancer genomics.
• Strong independent work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment.
