Assistant Residence Manager

About the role

Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks an Assistant Residence Manager to support the well‑being of developmentally disabled adults in a group home setting. You will work closely with the Residence Manager to ensure person‑centered care, regulatory compliance, and smooth house operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Residence Counselors and schedule staff to maintain 24/7 coverage.
• Develop, implement, and document Individual Service Plans and goals.
• Communicate with residents’ families and provide status reports in the manager’s absence.
• Perform hands‑on duties such as transporting residents, providing direct care, and handling household maintenance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (Associate’s Degree preferred).
• Minimum 2 years hands‑on caregiving experience in Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).
• Experience caring for adults with age‑onset medical issues in a residential setting.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Well‑developed administrative and organizational abilities.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Physical ability to stoop, crouch, and lift up to 250 lb with two persons.
