Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering – Healthcare Focus

About the role

Texas A&M International University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Systems Engineering with a focus on healthcare systems. The position begins Fall 2027 and includes a reduced teaching load to support research development.

Key responsibilities

• Establish an independent, externally funded research program in healthcare systems engineering.
• Teach Systems Engineering and related engineering courses, and contribute to BS and MS curricula.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research and senior design projects.
• Support recruitment, curriculum development, accreditation, and School service.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline by the start date.
• Demonstrated expertise in healthcare systems engineering through research, scholarship, or professional experience.
• Ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate instruction and mentor student research.
• Potential to secure external research funding and collaborate with academic, healthcare, industry, and government partners.
