Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering – Reservoir Engineering

About the role

Texas A&M International University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Petroleum Engineering with a focus on Reservoir Engineering, starting Fall 2027. The position includes a reduced teaching load to support research development and requires regular on‑campus presence.

Key responsibilities

• Establish an independent, externally funded research program in reservoir engineering.
• Teach reservoir engineering courses for the BS in Petroleum Engineering and other engineering courses as needed.
• Mentor student research, senior design projects, and supervise graduate work.
• Participate in recruitment, accreditation, school service, and collaboration with industry and government partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline by the start date.
• Demonstrated expertise in reservoir engineering through research, scholarship, or professional experience.
• Ability to teach reservoir engineering courses and mentor students.
• Potential to secure external research funding and collaborate with industry or government.
