Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering – Reservoir Engineering

About the role

Texas A&M International University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Petroleum Engineering with a focus on Reservoir Engineering to start Fall 2027. The position involves establishing an independent, externally funded research program and teaching undergraduate reservoir engineering courses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a funded research program in reservoir engineering.
• Teach reservoir engineering courses and other engineering subjects as needed.
• Mentor student research projects and senior design teams.
• Participate in recruitment, accreditation activities, and school service.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline by the start date.
• Demonstrated expertise in reservoir engineering through research, scholarship, or professional experience.
• Ability to secure external research funding and collaborate with industry or government partners.
