About the role
The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami are seeking a tenure‑track Assistant Professor. The position focuses on pre‑clinical research aimed at developing novel therapies to improve functional recovery after spinal cord injury.
Key responsibilities
- Design and conduct independent research projects in spinal cord injury and related neuro‑rehabilitation fields.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty, core facilities, and research centers across the university.
- Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Mentor graduate students, post‑doctoral fellows, and research staff.
- Seek external funding to support research initiatives.
Required profile
- PhD and/or MD with a strong record of academic achievement.
- Demonstrated potential to secure independent research funding.
- Interest in translational neuroscience and functional recovery after central nervous system injury.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
