Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems

About the role

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems in the Saunders College of Business, based in Rochester, New York. The position combines undergraduate and graduate teaching in MIS and Business Analytics with scholarly research and curriculum development, and joins the Department of MIS, Marketing, and Digital Business.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and/or Business Analytics
• Conduct scholarly research and publish in academic journals
• Help develop and improve MIS, Marketing and MS in Business Analytics & AI curricula, and create new courses responding to changes in artificial intelligence, business technology and workplace skills
• Engage with the business community and collaborate with faculty colleagues
• Typical schedule: five semester courses per year, reduced to four initially before tenure

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent
• Candidates who have completed all doctoral requirements except the dissertation (ABD) are considered if completion is expected by August 2027
• Strong research skills and potential for scholarly productivity, shown through peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations
• Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach effectively, and willingness to engage with the business community

What we offer

• Annual salary range of $140,000-$150,000, set according to scope, experience, education, skills, internal equity and market conditions
