Assistant Professor of Law (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

Gonzaga Law seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Law to join its faculty. The successful candidate will teach two courses each semester, contribute to curriculum development, and support the school’s mission of educating the whole person and serving marginalized communities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach two law courses per semester in areas such as Evidence, Criminal Law, Property, Business Associations, Sales, Wills and Trusts, Environmental Law, Intellectual Property, Legal Research and Writing, and related skills courses.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods.
• Supervise and advise students on self‑directed legal research and writing projects.
• Engage in service to the law school, university, and broader legal profession.
• Participate in Gonzaga Law’s Center for Civil & Human Rights and the Kennelly Center for Law, Ethics & Commerce.

Required profile

• Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) or equivalent terminal law degree.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and a commitment to service.
• Strong scholarly potential with a record of significant publication.
• Alignment with Gonzaga Law’s mission to serve marginalized communities.
