Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration

About the role

The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Higher Education Administration. The position begins Fall 2027 and supports graduate programs in Higher Education Administration (M.S.) and Educational Leadership (Ed.D.).

Key responsibilities

• Teach graduate‑level courses in the M.S. and Ed.D. programs, covering organization, administration, student development, and related topics.
• Develop and maintain an active research agenda aligned with a Carnegie Research 2 institution, pursue external funding, and disseminate findings through peer‑reviewed publications and conferences.
• Advise and mentor graduate students, serve on dissertation committees, and support student recruitment and retention.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate (or ABD) in higher education, higher education leadership, policy, student affairs, or a closely related field.
• Minimum three years of full‑time professional administrative experience in higher‑education settings (e.g., academic advising, student affairs, enrollment management).
• Experience teaching graduate‑level coursework in higher education administration.
• Evidence of scholarly work and participation in scholarly‑practitioner communities.

Required skills

• Ability to conduct and publish research on higher‑education leadership, policy, or institutional practice.
• Proficiency in curriculum development and graduate‑student mentorship.
