Assistant Professor of Health Sciences

About the role

The West Texas A&M University Health Science Faculty seeks an Assistant Professor to deliver high-quality instruction and support student success in health sciences programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in population health, healthcare systems, health promotion, and rural health.
• Develop, revise, and assess curriculum using evidence-based instructional practices.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career pathways.
• Facilitate experiential learning such as internships, clinical placements, and community projects.
• Participate in program assessment, accreditation, and continuous quality-improvement activities.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to strengthen healthcare education pathways.

Required profile

• Master’s or doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, EdD, DNP, or related) in Health Sciences or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning.
• Experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, or online environments.
• Interest in serving rural and underserved populations.
