About the role
The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor to join its rapidly growing Department of Psychiatry. The role involves evaluating and treating patients in outpatient faculty practice and affiliated clinics, while supervising trainees and contributing to research and academic activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide timely, comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow‑up care for patients across multiple affiliated sites.
- Supervise and mentor trainees, ensuring high‑quality clinical education and adequate supervision.
- Lead administrative functions such as staff recruitment, interview assistance, and monitoring patient care loads.
- Facilitate communication among faculty, staff, and trainees, and coordinate regular meetings and specialty clinic development.
Required profile
- Medical degree (M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) with board eligibility in psychiatry.
- Unrestricted Florida medical license.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, research collaboration, and trainee mentorship.
