Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine – Myeloma

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine to join the Department of Medicine, Division of Myeloma, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role combines patient care with a strong focus on myeloma genomics research.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient attending physician services for patients with plasma cell disorders and hematologic malignancies.
• Design, lead, and manage research studies on genome sequencing of multiple myeloma and related plasma dyscrasias.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and contribute to scientific manuscripts, patents, and industry collaborations.
• Secure extramural funding to support research activities and departmental contributions.
• Participate in educational conferences, departmental meetings, and scholarly/administrative duties.

Required profile

• MD with board certification or eligibility in Myeloma.
• Active or eligibility to obtain a Florida medical license.
• Proven record of peer‑reviewed publications in myeloma research.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain extramural research funding.
• Experience or strong interest in myeloma genomics and genome sequencing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.
