About the role
The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Cardiac Surgery to lead clinical, educational, and research initiatives within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, providing high‑quality patient care across multiple affiliated hospitals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement clinical, financial, educational and research objectives for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Oversee the operational budget in collaboration with the Department Chair.
- Provide comprehensive cardiac surgical care, including pediatric and adult procedures, trauma, and transplant coordination.
- Supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students across multiple affiliated hospitals.
- Participate in national and international professional activities and contribute to the growth of minimally invasive cardiac programs.
Required profile
- MD or MD/PhD with board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Florida medical license and DEA certificate.
- 0‑2 years of experience post‑fellowship.
- Demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities in cardiac surgery.
