Assistant Professor – Criminology (Law Enforcement/Victimology)

About the role
The Department of Criminology at California State University, Fresno seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to join its faculty in Fall 2027. The position focuses on Law Enforcement and/or Victimology, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting scholarly and applied research, and contributing to departmental service.
Key responsibilities
- Teach core and elective criminology courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Advise and mentor majors in criminology and forensic behavioral sciences.
- Develop curriculum and participate in program development initiatives.
- Conduct and publish research, pursue grant opportunities, and present findings at conferences.
- Engage in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work.
Required profile
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in criminology, criminal justice, or a closely related social science discipline (completion by August 1 2027 required).
- Ability to teach core curriculum courses as outlined in the department’s catalog.
- Demonstrated excellence in university‑level teaching (including graduate‑assistant experience).
- Record of scholarly presentations and peer‑reviewed publications.
