Assistant Professor – Computational Methods in Mathematics

About the role

The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position focused on computational methods in mathematics, beginning August 2027. This nine‑month, in‑person appointment combines teaching, research, and service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computational and applied mathematics.
• Conduct high‑impact research in computational and applied mathematics and pursue external funding.
• Provide service to the department, college, and university through committees, student advising, and outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field by the start date.
• Demonstrated active research agenda and a strong record of publications.
• Commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Potential for interdisciplinary collaboration and mentorship of student research.
