Assistant Professor – Clinical Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (Psychologist)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The role focuses on delivering neuropsychological clinical services, including mental health screenings and comprehensive psychological assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer neuropsychological tests covering intelligence, memory, attention, language, and sensorimotor functions.
• Evaluate patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, brain tumors, ADHD, and related disorders.
• Develop and implement cognitive rehabilitation plans; provide psychotherapy when appropriate.
• Prepare detailed, evidence‑based reports to guide medical treatment.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and multidisciplinary medical teams.
• Supervise post‑doctoral psychology fellows and participate in team meetings.
• Identify patients who require psychiatric evaluation.

Required profile

• Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) or Ph.D. in Psychology.
• Valid State of Florida license as a psychologist.
• Completed fellowship with specialized training in neuropsychology.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
