About the role
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor to lead clinical and research initiatives in corneal and refractive surgery. This full‑time faculty position supports the school’s mission to advance ophthalmic science and improve patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Drive interdisciplinary research collaborations, especially in artificial‑intelligence applications to ophthalmology.
- Develop and deliver curriculum for medical students and graduate programs.
- Lead translational clinical research projects that enhance patient outcomes at UHealth.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain faculty, researchers, and trainees in the ophthalmology field.
- Secure research funding and foster philanthropic support for departmental growth.
Required profile
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Active medical license to practice in Florida (or University Medical Certificate).
- Demonstrated record of scholarly activity and research leadership.
- Commitment to teaching, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
