Assistant Principal – Multiple School Locations

About the role

The Buffalo Public Schools system is seeking qualified leaders to serve as Assistant Principals across multiple school sites for the 2026‑2027 academic year. In this role you will partner directly with the school principal to advance the district’s transformation agenda, support student achievement, and foster a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate clear communication and collaboration among staff, administrators, students, and parents.
• Develop and communicate a Comprehensive Education Plan aligned with district vision and goals.
• Design, oversee, and achieve objectives that promote student achievement and a high‑performing learning climate.
• Gather, analyze, and disaggregate data to inform instructional improvements.
• Support the principal in day‑to‑day school operations and leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree.
• Valid New York State School District Administrator (SDA), School Supervisor (SAS), School Building Leader (SBL), or Administrator certification at the time of application.
• Minimum five years of certificated teaching and/or approved supervisory experience.
• Prior assistant principal or administrative experience in an urban district is preferred.
