Assistant or Associate Teaching/Clinical Professor in Public Health

About the role

The Department of Public Health & Health Sciences at Northeastern University seeks two full‑time, non‑tenure‑track faculty members at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching/Clinical Professor. The positions involve teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in epidemiology, health policy, health communications, and introductory public‑health topics.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and, where appropriate, graduate courses covering research design, health literacy, rural health, healthcare organizations, mental health, population health, health promotion campaigns, and advocacy.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including curriculum development and student mentorship.
• Engage in scholarly activities and continuing professional development.

Required profile

• Ph.D., DrPH, or other terminal degree in public health, communication, epidemiology, or a related field.
• At least one year of prior undergraduate teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching diverse student populations and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Required skills

• Strong pedagogical expertise and ability to incorporate experiential learning into coursework.
• Knowledge of epidemiology, health policy, health communications, or related public‑health disciplines.

• 52‑week full‑time appointment with salary ranges: Assistant Teaching Professor $109,000‑$132,000; Associate Teaching Professor $125,000‑$156,000; Assistant Clinical Professor $114,000‑$147,000; Associate Clinical Professor $126,000‑$162,000.
