Assistant Nurse Manager, OSED Emergency Department Nights

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for its OSED Emergency Department nights shift in Deltona, Florida. The role combines bedside nursing with leadership of the unit, including staff supervision, quality improvement and mentoring.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, administer and monitor infusion therapy, and develop individualized care plans for patients needing these services.
• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and implement improvement plans.
• Mentor and precept new staff, identify training needs and organize educational programs.
• Resolve staff conflicts through mediation and foster team cohesion.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and improving patient care and operational efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the healthcare team, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred; 1+ years as charge nurse or relevant leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to lead staff and performance improvement on the unit, manage the business of healthcare delivery, and act as a role model of professionalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic computer skills, including an electronic health record.

Required skills

• RN license and BLS (CPR) certification required.
• Preferred certifications include CCNS, CMSRN, CRNI, NRP-A, PEARS, and others listed in the original posting.
