Assistant Nurse Manager, Observation Nights

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for its 4 North Observation unit in Tavares, Florida, working full time on night shifts. The role covers venous access and infusion therapy nursing, staff supervision, quality improvement and mentoring, with a pay range of $34.32-$63.84.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Administer and monitor infusion therapy treatments, adjusting care plans based on patient response.
• Assess patients' conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and educate patients on venous access and infusion therapy.
• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and implement improvement plans.
• Mentor and precept new staff, identify training needs and organize educational programs.
• Resolve staff conflicts through mediation and foster team cohesion.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and improving patient care and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
• 1+ years of charge nurse or relevant leadership experience preferred.
• 1+ years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to lead staff and performance improvement on the unit, manage the business of healthcare delivery, and act as a role model of professionalism.

Required skills

• Excellent clinical practice knowledge applied to the unit setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with an electronic health record.
• Unit-specific competencies as outlined by the unit of employment.
