Assistant Nurse Manager, Cardiac Med-Surg Nights

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for its Cardiac Med-Surg unit in Deland, Florida, working nights on a full-time basis. The role covers venous access and infusion therapy care, and includes supervising nursing staff, monitoring performance and supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, ensuring proper technique and patient safety
• Administer and monitor infusion therapy treatments, adjusting care plans according to patient response and needs
• Assess patients' conditions to choose appropriate venous access methods and address complications
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients needing venous access and infusion therapy
• Educate patients on venous access and infusion therapy to ensure understanding and compliance
• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and set improvement plans
• Identify training needs, organize educational programs and mentor staff

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• 1+ years as charge nurse or relevant leadership experience (preferred)
• 1+ years of acute care nursing experience (preferred)
• RN license, BLS/CPR certification and ACLS certification required; additional licensure or certification may depend on the unit or state

Required skills

• Ability to lead a unit in patient care and performance improvement
• Critical thinking about unit operations and patient care
• Managing the business side of healthcare delivery, including financial practices and productivity
• Mentoring and counseling staff, and acting as a role model of professionalism
