Assistant Manager of Custodial Services

About the role

The Assistant Manager of Custodial Services supports the Manager of Custodial Services in leading shift crews and ensuring efficient custodial operations across campus. This full‑time position also assists Facilities Management with data entry, personnel distribution, evaluations, and coordination of essential department functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and practical custodial knowledge to shift crews.
• Assist with personnel distribution, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
• Enter and maintain records in computerized systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct training on equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience and 5 years of practical custodial experience.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and communicate with diverse staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of custodial equipment, chemicals, and safety data sheets (SDS).
• Proficiency with computer office systems and record‑keeping software.
