Assistant Manager, Member Experience

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Member Experience supports the High Museum of Art’s 40,000‑household membership program by overseeing member‑only events, communications, and on‑site experiences. Reporting to the Associate Director of Membership, this role works closely with the Guest Relations Manager and the Marketing team to enhance member engagement and drive renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and evaluate members‑only events, exhibition previews, docent‑led tours and appreciation gatherings.
• Develop and manage the quarterly calendar of member communications, including e‑newsletters, printed invitations and content for the HMA Member Magazine.
• Coordinate revenue‑generating campaign emails (renewals, acquisition, gift memberships) and support annual fund direct‑mail initiatives.
• Collaborate with Guest Relations to promote on‑site sales, improve visitation rates and ensure a high level of customer service.
• Oversee signage, printed marketing materials and in‑shop membership sales in partnership with museum shop managers.
• Design and distribute member surveys to gauge satisfaction, benefits usage and renewal intent.

Required profile

• Experience managing membership programs, events or guest services in a cultural or nonprofit setting.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to produce engaging content for newsletters and print materials.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with marketing, creative services and operations teams.
• Detail‑oriented with capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
