Assistant Director of Clinical Programs

About the role

This six‑month contracted position reports to the Director of Clinical Programs and supports the day‑to‑day clinical and administrative operations of the Clinical Department. The role may lead to full‑time at‑will employment based on performance, attendance, and organizational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee clinical and administrative workflows, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with LA County DMH, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and performance management to clinical staff, including AMFTs, ACSWs, and APCCs.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Client Services to maintain documentation standards and clinical fidelity to evidence‑based practices.
• Analyze program data to identify trends, implement corrective action plans, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet productivity and service‑delivery goals.

Required profile

• California licensure as LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW with at least two years of active practice.
• Minimum four years recent supervisory experience of AMFTs, ACSWs, APCCs, or practicum students in a community mental‑health setting.
• Eligibility to provide clinical supervision per BBS standards and current knowledge of LA County DMH documentation and Medi‑Cal/EPSDT.
• Experience working with foster youth/child‑welfare populations and delivering field‑based mental‑health services.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Exym electronic health record system.
• Strong knowledge of DMH documentation requirements and Medi‑Cal/EPSDT billing processes.
