About the role

The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Engagement Initiatives leads all aspects of student life within the Bowen School of Law. This senior academic administrator oversees academic counseling, success programs, bar passage preparation, and student engagement activities to ensure law students thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate programs that support academic achievement, personal development, and professional readiness for law students.
• Provide comprehensive academic counseling and serve as the primary academic advisor for all law students.
• Design and manage bar passage preparation initiatives, tracking outcomes and implementing improvements.
• Lead student engagement initiatives, including extracurricular activities, leadership development, and community outreach.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional policies governing student affairs.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Demonstrated experience in academic administration, counseling, or teaching within a higher‑education setting.
• Strong understanding of law school curricula, bar exam requirements, and student development best practices.
